What Is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an FDA-approved bio-stimulatory volumizer, which means it encourages your body to produce its own collagen. The result? Smoother, thicker skin and natural-looking volume that lasts.
How Is Sculptra® Different From Other Dermal Fillers?
The fillers we use are made of hyaluronic acid. Sculptra® is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic form of the natural lactic acid your body produces when you work out. Instead of adding immediate volume, Sculptra® builds it more gradually. The PLLA acts as a scaffolding for your body’s collagen, providing a structure for natural-looking fullness that develops over several weeks to months. While these results take a bit longer to see, they last longer, too.
Synergism
HA fillers and Sculptra® work synergistically. HA fillers work best to fill areas below the skin, such as deeper hollows and troughs whereas Sculptra® works best to strengthen and thicken skin. Together they can create a more youthful appearance that allows you to see the person you are inside, creating The Best You.
The Process
Sculptra® results can start to be seen at 6 weeks; around the 3 month mark the full benefits are seen. The average patient returns 2-3 times (at 6 week or 3 month intervals) for more Sculptra®. The amount needed and the number of visits is up to you. One you reach the results you want, then you no longer have to return. The results tend to last an average of 2 years or more (it can last up to 5 years!). We only use 2 vials per session and it can take 1 year to see the full results.
Many people return every 12-18 months for 1 or 2 vials to maintain their results.
