Platelet Rich Plasma

What is PRP Therapy?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is an innovative treatment that harnesses the natural properties of your blood platelets. Platelets are considered growth factors and contain proteins that form clots (which stop bleeding). These proteins also help your body repair and rebuild damaged tissues. In the scalp, PRP helps heal dormant and damaged follicles.

As soon as the PRP enters your scalp, it creates inflammation and goes to work: increasing circulation, recruiting stem cells to the area, and improving cellular function.

As follicles become healthier, hair thickness, strength, and growth rates increase. Over time, this leads to a reduction in hair loss and an improvement in new hair growth. Results are improved with the addition of A-Cell and even more so with the addition of Human Exosomes.

PRP can help you avoid transplant surgery and/or improve surgery results. Once you experience the growth you want and/or have had surgery, PRP injections are also an excellent way to maintain growth and help combat ongoing loss.

The Procedure:

During PRP therapy, we draw a small amount of your blood and process it to separate the platelets and plasma from other blood components. The golden fluid that remains is called “Platelet Rich Plasma”, which is then injected into the scalp. This fluid can be injected as is or mixed with A-Cell and/or Human Exosomes.

Growth Packages

Growth packages are scheduled as six sessions that are set four to six weeks apart, which has been proven to be the optimal number of sessions for repair and growth.

There are three packages available; all are pre-paid.

Plain PRP

Your blood is used for all six sessions.

Plain PRP plus A-cell

A-cells are growth factors derived from pig bladders and are proven to enhance the results of plain PRP.

One unit is added to the first of six sessions.

Plain PRP plus Human Exosomes

Human exosomes are a breakthrough medical additive derived from amniotic cells.
Exosomes are not stem cells, and compared to stem cells, they provide similar or better results in enhancing the body’s natural healing process. Exosomes are amniotic fluid/cells obtained from C-section delivery waste products that have been donated by the parents. They contain no antibodies or other potentially harmful properties.

One vial is added to the first of six sessions.

Maintenance Package:

Three sessions of Plain PRP

These sessions can be used any way you choose, as long as they are used within 1 year of purchase.

It is optimal to use one session every six months.

A la carte options:

  • Patients who purchase the A-Cell package have the option to purchase extra units of A-Cell to add to other sessions of that package.

  • Patients who purchase the Human Exosome package have the option to purchase both extra units of A-cell and/or extra vials of Human Exosomes to add to other sessions of the package:

Single plain PRP

Single PRP with A-cell

Single PRP with Human Exosomes

Results:

As with everything else in life, results vary. I will discuss minimum percentages of improvement expected with every treatment at your consult but that is not guarantee. Most patients get excellent results, but not everyone does. Some of that is due to expectations, which is why a consult is so important. It is also due to the biology and physiology of each patient.

Hair generally grows at a rate of four to six inches a year. Depending on how long your hair is currently, and how

long it takes your hair to grow, it can take several months to a year before you enjoy the full results of your PRP

treatment. As soon as the growth is more than about ½ - one inch, your hair will appear fuller even if it is not

the length you want it to be.

Prices of the procedures will be discussed at the Mini Facial Analysis/Consult.
